The Lab at Grand Street Arts is a small, niche photo printing service catering to those looking for the best in photographic printing.
Not cheap fast prints from the drugstore, or from some big photo lab. We're talking about professional grade, custom printed photos on long-lasting high quality fine art photographic paper or canvas using Epson pigment inks to provide archival Giclee prints lasting up to 200 years or more.
Each photo is printed by master technician, Annie Appel. As a seasoned fine art photographer who continues using large film cameras on her personal documentary essays, her passion for photography brings an unmatched dedication to detail to image making. A portfolio of recent portraits by Annie were added to the Smithsonian Museum's permanent collection, where curator Shanon Perich described "the quality of your prints takes printing in photography to an entirely new level."

PRINTING: Digital / Platinum-Palladium
Platinum-Palladium prints are unrivaled by any modern printing technique, both in appearance and performance. These prints, created on Hahnemuhle paper, are favored by art collectors due to their longevity, achieving an archival rating in excess of 1500 years. In terms of appearance platinum palladium prints create an added sense of depth, and the tonal range of the prints is unmatched.
Dating back to the 1870s, this handmade photographic-printmaking technique was created through contact printing, meaning the photographic negative matches the size of the final print. As a result, photographers of the times were more limited to what size they could make their prints. Now we can make “digital negatives” up to 44” wide!
