Photography is not about pointing the camera and pressing a button. It's also about arranging the components of your scene to give balance and flow to the image, to drive the way a viewer looks at the pictures. In this workshop, we'll examine the concepts of composition and editing and how to find that balance in your photographs to help you create personal images that can become universal.

Testimonials

Testimonials from Winter 2020 Bootcamp

“This is my second Annie Appel Workshop, my first being the Legacy Workshop years ago. Annie motivates me with her own style of nurturing encouragement and she has successfully created a workshop atmosphere of both support and stimulation."Jeffrey

“You learn by doing, with interesting assignments and classroom discussion on photographs submitted from all participants in the class. Lightroom is an amazing and seemingly complex program, and yet Annie teaches you how to navigate through its many levels in a way that is understandable and actually fun to experiment with. It is a safe, creative and encouraging learning environment. Everyone in the workshop has their own unique style and with Annie's guidance, are able to improve their own techniques.” Michael

“It was so interesting seeing the different perspectives on everyones photographs and the community was so inspiring. The friendships and artistic comrades I made were special and Annie was an incredible facilitator and a genius instructor.” Elaine

"Annie Appel has created an open and engaging creative session that fosters both in each participant. With a dynamic and diverse mix of fellow photophiles, you’ll share works, collaborate, encourage and help establish or confirm your personal photographic creative vision." FJR
